Overview

We are seeking a Senior Account Director to join our team. In this position you’re responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and management of your accounts while coaching and supporting more junior employees. We expect senior account directors to be well-versed in integrated marketing and communications opportunities that can help better support and address our clients’ growing needs. As a SAD we require not only a high level of strategic thinking and intense knowledge of interdependencies of economical and societal surroundings, but also an entrepreneurial approach towards developing the department/practice and add value to the overall agency.

 

This person will play an active role in additional efforts outside day-to-day account work including new business, agency marketing, employee development and coaching, trainings, etc.  

Responsibilities

  • Act as a day-to-day client lead contact, driving implementation of strategy and tactics.  
  • Develop integrated communications programs for clients that encompass cross-channel opportunities. 
  • Identify clients’ growing needs and align with existing agency offerings.  
  • Manage account teams to drive results for clients and continuously evaluate overall account success against KPIs. 
  • Monitor and track account budgets and account team’s hours against scopes of work on ongoing base.
  • Oversee development and implementation of integrated strategies, providing direction and support for account managers and senior account executives.
  • Contribute to Allison’s culture (ex: employee experience, DEI, professional development).
  • Outline roles and responsibilities for the account teams and re-evaluate regularly.  
  • Coach account team members and direct reports (if applicable) to strengthen and develop skillsets.  
  • High level of intercultural competence to interconnect your practice/department with international colleagues and draw value through cross-office collaboration.
  • Identify new business opportunities and play a leadership role in RFP responses, pitch preparation and presentations. 
  • Build up direct management expertise.
  • Promote and uphold Allison’s core values; participates in agency-wide training and professional development programs.   

Qualifications

  • Requires prior experience as a manager, supervisor or director in public relations, marketing or a related field. Senior Account Directors at Allison typically have a minimum of 10+ years of experience.
  • Expertise in a defined field of communications. 
  • Strong understanding of the editorial and social media landscape with an ability to advise account teams on best practices in storytelling and overall marketing activation.
  • Strong interest into industry stories, trends and societal developments.
  • Curiosity and open-mindedness.
  • Team-oriented working style and social skills.
  • High level of diligence and organizational talent.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Creative problem-solver deft in identifying greater opportunities for integration between departments and teams.
  • Results-driven with ability to deliver comprehensive measurement programs for clients.
  • Deep Experience in team/account management, as well as direct management preferred.
  • Pro-active contribution to the overall development of the agency.
