Overview

We are seeking a Director, Social Media to join our Media+Influence team. This role will lead social media strategy, planning, content development (concept & copy), and community management for clients, including a particular focus on B2B social.

 

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in social media marketing, with the ability to identify unique insights and translate those into audience-driven strategies to create engaging content that drives real business value. The candidate should also be skilled in managing production workflows and collaborating with in-house and external creatives.

 

The candidate will maintain best-in-class and leading-edge knowledge of consumer and B2B social media strategy, tactics, trends and platform developments. They will act as an ambassador across the agency for social media initiatives and help grow accounts and contribute to new business efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing strategic counsel for various clients in B2B, consumer, non-profit and government sectors
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of social media strategy as well as day-to-day implementation and management of social media channels for Allison clients, including organic and paid tactics
  • Concepts and writes social content based on annual strategy, objectives, and in alignment with messaging/tone guidelines. This role partners closely with in-house designers and video editors on production needs. No graphic design or video editing experience is required.
  • Oversee community management for client social media channels, including monitoring online conversations and providing strategic recommendations
  • Collaborate with and brief in-house creatives on client social content needs.
  • Identify, contract, and brief third-party content creators to create social content for clients’ brand channels.
  • Measure the success of social media initiatives and provide recommendations for adjustments
  • Maintain regular client contact, both verbal and written to develop a trusted relationship; serve as a strategic partner to clients and internal teams
  • Forecast budgets, track project utilization and provide invoice details
  • Work with account teams to develop big picture skills vis-à-vis strategic planning, client development, etc.
  • Supervise junior team members and contribute to their development and growth
  • Promote and uphold Allison’s core values

Qualifications

  • Directors at Allison typically have a minimum of 7+ years of experience in social media, marketing or a related field, at a brand or agency
  • Experience in social media marketing for B2B brands is strongly preferred
  • In-depth working knowledge of major social media platforms and the ability to articulate clearly the value proposition of each
  • Past experience managing paid social campaigns, including boosting organic content
  • Team-oriented, with an innate ability to understand needs and objectives and manage to expectations and turnaround times
  • Thinks strategically and creatively
  • Builds innovative strategies to achieve objectives
  • Strong writing and presentation skills and attention to detail  
  • Proven track record in supporting organic growth and business development
  • Prior management of direct reports is preferred
  • Ability to manage expectations appropriately and effectively

Compensation

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $100K-$150K. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
