Overview

The Director, Growth is responsible for leading Allison’s new business and organic growth program. Reporting to the Chief Strategy and Growth Officer, this role oversees day-to-day growth activities, including pipeline oversight, opportunity management, and the coordination of high-value new business pursuits.

This role is both strategic and operational: shaping growth plans, managing cross-functional teams through the pitch process, and ensuring that Allison presents a clear, compelling, and differentiated story to prospective and existing clients.

Responsibilities

Lead New Business & Pitch Efforts

  • Help coordinate key new business opportunities, including RFPs and proactive pitches.
  • Manage the end-to-end pitch process, from initial qualification through final presentation.
  • Ensure pitch teams are aligned on objectives, roles, and timelines.
  • Conduct post-pitch reviews to capture learnings and strengthen future efforts.

 

Manage Growth Reporting & Insights

  • Oversee tracking and reporting on growth activity and pipeline health.
  • Synthesize data and trends into clear insights that inform growth priorities and decision making.
  • Provide regular updates and visibility into growth performance for senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Operations on forecasting and growth-related reporting.

 

Develop & Maintain Growth Materials

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of core credentials and supporting materials for new business efforts.
  • Ensure case studies, capabilities overviews, and supporting content are current, compelling, and reflective of Allison’s breadth of services.
  • Support the creation of materials that can be leveraged across different sectors, regions, and client types.

 

Drive Process & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the refinement of Allison’s global new business processes and standards.
  • Help establish clear expectations for pitch readiness, resourcing, and internal coordination.
  • Promote a culture of preparation, discipline, and continuous improvement in how we pursue and win business.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in new business within a PR, communications, marketing, or related professional services firm.

  • Proven track record leading and winning large, complex pitches and RFPs, including multi-market or global pursuits.
  • Demonstrated success driving both net-new client acquisition and organic growth within existing accounts.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience managing pipeline data, forecasting revenue, and using dashboards/CRM tools to inform decisions.
  • Experience developing and maintaining firm-wide credentials, case studies, and pitch materials for enterprise-level clients.
  • Skilled at orchestrating cross-functional teams (Strategy, Creative, Media, Analytics, Finance, Operations, Client Leaders) around a clear win strategy.
  • Exceptional storytelling, communication, and presentation skills, with executive presence and comfort in C-suite and senior client settings.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven, with the ability to manage multiple high-stakes pursuits simultaneously.
  • Strategic, insight-led mindset with a strong bias toward preparation, rigor, and continuous improvement.

Compensation

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $160K-$180K. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
