Overview

We are seeking a Senior Vice President in San Francisco. In this role, the Senior Vice President plays a critical role as the ‘go to’ strategic counsel and thought partner to clients and troubleshooting challenges as they arise. This person is also responsible for uncovering growth opportunities with existing clients and through new business. As a senior team member of the office and within the U.S., this person will support agency marketing or research initiatives, new business direction and planning alongside staffing / resource allocation.  

 

This position will be focused on driving strategy and leading a large integrated team for a top agency client. This role will be on the front lines counseling with clients, ensuring our program and team is optimized for success, addressing fast-moving changes in the landscape (media, political, cultural, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic counsel and work in tandem with team lead partners to drive strategy and identify integrated marketing and communications opportunities to support our clients.  
  • Act with a global mentality; seeking out opportunities for clients outside of own market/country.
  • Advise clients on issues or crises as they arise. 
  • Manage scopes of work and track profitability and overall budgets on accounts – provide recommendations for how to best optimize budgets and uncover organic growth opportunities.
  • Also responsible for contract negotiation, billing, budget management, utilization and resource planning.  
  • Responsible for overall health and success of an account and for maintaining a strong collaborative relationship and partnership with the most senior clients.  
  • Act as leader within practice group, department or office executing growth strategies and ideating on new opportunities for agency marketing, research, or development.  
  • Coach and mentor team members, support their career growth and conduct ongoing professional development training. 
  • Source and evaluate new business opportunities, pursuing leads and building on the team to support a prospect.
  • Facilitate and log (in HubSpot) a minimum of 4 meetings a month as part of the agency’s Value-Added-Services meetings initiative to help advance Allison’s business opportunities and revenue 
  • Promote and uphold Allison’s core values; participate in agency-wide training and professional development programs.

Qualifications

  • Requires prior experience as a vice president (or equivalent) in public relations, marketing or a related field. Senior Vice Presidents at Allison typically have a minimum of 12+ years of experience.
  • Expertise in: health and/or consumer behavior change campaigns and/or multicultural marketing, community events and/or earned media
  • Ability to lead a large and integrated team with multiple workstreams and partners.
  • Proven track record in driving organic growth.  
  • Ability to manage expectations appropriately and effectively.  
  • Proven track-record in developing integrated communications and/pr marketing programs for accounts/clients. 
  • Direct management experience preferred.
  • Preferred experience supporting overall agency, department, or office growth.  
  • Experience in budget tracking and resource allocation.  
  • Preferred experience in employee development or training.

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $141k-$225k. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
