Overview

We are seeking an Assistant Account Executive to join our Technology group. This is an entry-level position where you’ll work collaboratively with team members on key account projects and help organize the team around upcoming assignments. You’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the industry and agency and explore different roles and skillsets within public relations and communications.  

You will be responsible for developing highly curated media lists to provide your teams with accurate journalist and influencer information to successfully secure coverage for clients. This role will also entail conducting industry news monitoring to flag any trends, issues and media coverage for clients. You will be expected to actively network with media and influencers to develop relationships, pitch media and securing coverage opportunities, and maintain team operations with agendas, action items and reports. This role will support two clients in our Technology portfolio.  

Responsibilities

  • Participate in team and client calls and provide thorough notes and action items to help move deliverables forward every week.  
  • Assist in providing clear client communication under the direction of your account leads. 
  • Develop the first draft of PR content like press materials, speaker submissions, blog and social media content, bylines, etc. for review by your team. 
  • Monitor and develop reports for client and industry media coverage. 
  • Conduct media outreach with guidance from AE/SAE; pitching news announcements and conducting follow up via phone and email.  
  • Research and track industry events, speaking opportunities and awards for clients, providing recommendations to internal team members. 
  • Produce monthly or weekly reports outlining key activities and initiatives. 
  • Conduct new business research to support upcoming pitches and presentations. 
  • Promote and uphold Allison’s core values; participate in agency-wide training and professional development programs. 

Qualifications

  • Preferred experience as an account coordinator or equivalent experience in public relations, marketing or a related field.  Assistant Account Executives at Allison typically have a minimum of 1+ years of experience.  
  • An interest or background in technology (B2B or consumer tech) strongly preferred.   
  • Works independently on assignments, as directed.    
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn and enthusiastic about the work.    
  • Foundation in research and content development.     
  • Prior experience working in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, alongside Zoom and Microsoft Teams.   
  • Takes direction well, asks clarifying questions and follows through on required deadlines.    
  • Proficiency in using media monitoring and data analytics tools like Muckrack, Critical Mention, Meltwater and Cision.

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $50k-$60k. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
